The Garb Wire Journey

Take A Walk

The back streets of Fitzroy are full of hidden gems and they are best wandered on a lazy Saturday morning while the sun is shining. Take the long way to brunch and spend the time admiring the street art and mature Dutch Elm that line the roads. Enjoy the peace and serenity!

Terror Twilight

One of the best cafes in Collingwood, Terror Twilight serves Mushroom and Nutropic coffee and you can even build your own Lunch bowl. They also have an epic interior which double’s as a great back drop for your Instagram photos. Open 8am to 3pm make sure you get in early so you don’t have to wait for a table.

After you are finished at brunch head towards Smith street and enjoy the walk to our next destination. The are some great shops worth visiting along the way -

  1. Kuwaii

  2. Hanging Rock Store

  3. Vintage Garage

  4. Somebuddy Loves You

  5. Plug Seven Records

Aesop

Hiding on the corner of Smith and Gertrude street Aesop is renowned for their fiercely independent approach to product research and development. Established in 1987 the head office is located in Melbourne. Aesop is committed to formulating hair and body products of the finest quality. If you are looking for a new skincare regime you will find it here.

Flowers Vasette

An absolute floral dream, if you are a bit of a green thumb this is a stop you must see. The store is best on a Saturday as it is usually filled to the brim with fresh arrivals from the market in prep for a busy weekend. I love it here as they always have a great variety of out of the ordinary florals. The staff can make arrangements for every budget and are extremely knowledgeable so don’t be scared to ask for some advice on what to pick.

Hunter Gatherer Fitzroy

A combination of vintage and contemporary fashion Hunter Gatherer will meet all your fashion needs. The décor is also worth noting especially the fitting rooms, if staging a movie montage was acceptable behaviour this is the perfect spot for it. The store has a really nice community vibe stocking ethical and fair-trade products you also get the extra benefit of knowing all items are donated to The Brotherhood of Saint Lawrence.

The Vegetable Connection

Organic fruit and vegetables, fresh juices and handmade chocolate brownies, need I say more?

The Rum Diary

Order a Dark and Stormy and take a seat. The atmosphere at The Rum Diary is so typically Melbourne with great drinks an awesome playlist and friendly staff! This bar is the perfect place to end the afternoon, you can perch yourself at the bar or people watch on the street.
